摘要: Since the first successful valve operations were reported in 1950s and 1960s (1–4), valvular surgery has gradually increased frequency currently comprises close to 15% of all adult cardiac (5,6). However, precise percentage compared other procedures at each institution varies, as a reflection different geographic locations referral patterns. According American Heart Association Society Thoracic Surgeons, more than 95,000 heart performed adults 1999 Commensurate with quantitative increase are dramatic advances achieved surgery, improvement results overall quality prosthetic valves during past 50 yr. Not surprisingly, mean age patients undergoing same period. In 1999, nearly 60% among individuals 65 yr older (5).
