摘要: Cadmium (Cd) is a known pollutant present in the environment at low levels and reported to affect reproduction many ways. The study was undertaken explore effect of Cd F1 generation mice on cognitive parameters, further investigate whether quercetin could modulate these effects. In this study, female lactating were exposed cadmium for seven days just after delivery. new born pups their adulthood tested learning memory parameters by passive avoidance task Morris water maze (MWM) test. It observed that showed significant impairment step down latency test, which reversed (100 mg/kg). MWM test spatial memory, animals exhibited increased escape latency, (50 mg/kg) significantly. Quercetin alone 100 also demonstrated improved retention paradigm dose 50 mg/kg. On testing oxidative stress we significantly malondialdehyde (MDA) brain tissue Cd-treated mice. Moreover, co-treatment with reduced MDA levels. other doses (25 reduction as compared group alone, though difference not statistically significant. Hence, highlights possibility if there exposure during lactation possibly attribute effect.
