摘要: Flavonoids are polyphenolic compounds that integral components of the human diet, universally present as constituents fruits and vegetables well plant-derived foods beverages such oil, tea, red wine. The biological activities flavonoids cover a very broad spectrum, from anticancer antibacterial to inhibition bone reabsorption modulation inflammatory response. Although emerging evidence has suggested might have an impact on brain pathology aging, their role mediator in interactions between neurons glial cells been poorly explored. In work, we performed screening flavonoid actions by analyzing effects hesperidin, quercetin rutin murine cerebral cortex astrocytes neural progenitors. Treatment with did not interfere cell viability proliferation. However culture progenitors conditioned medium hesperidin treated-astrocyte (H-CM) yielded produced 41% 25% increase number post-mitotic neurons, respectively. H-CM effect was mainly due neuronal progenitor survival. Pools astrocyte oligodendrocyte were affected (hesperidin), Q-CM (quercetin) R-CM (rutin). population. These results suggest be composed new factor could modulate neuroglial during central nervous system development opens possibility for using therapeutic strategies neurodegenerative diseases.
