摘要: The study aimed to investigate the effects of different tube potentials and concentrations iodinated contrast media (CM) on image enhancement, contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) noise in micro-computed tomography (µCT) images. A phantom containing five polyethylene was filled with 2 mL deionized water CM (Omnipaque 300 mgI/mL) at four concentrations: 5, 10, 15, 20 mol/L, respectively. scanned a µCT machine (SkyScan 1176) using various potentials: 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 kVp, fixed current; 100 µA, filtration 0.2 mm aluminum (Al). percentage difference CNR all images, acquired kVps concentrations, were calculated. curves respect potential concentration plotted analysed. highest enhancement found lowest 40 kVp. At this kVp setting, [Hounsfield Unit (HU) mol/L iodine over HU water] 43%. By increasing potential, it resulted reduction HU, where only 17.5% noticed for Across (5-20 M), peaked 80 then these values showed slight decreasing pattern, which might be due insufficient current compensation. obtained 72.4%. Lower setting results higher conjunction CM. Overall, increment will substantially improve reduce noise.
