摘要: Cancer cells are exposed to various intrinsic and extrinsic factors that disrupt protein homeostasis, producing endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. To cope with these situations, cancer evoke a highly conserved adaptive mechanism called the unfolded response (UPR) restore ER homeostasis. Recently, several pharmacological agents have been found exhibit anti-tumor activity by targeting UPR components. The development of potent specific compounds target components has not only shed light on regulation in cells, but also brought field closer clinical drug candidates. Here we present an overview milestones biology focus new strategies for inhibition.
