摘要: The mineral economies comprise approximately one-fifth of developing countries. They face special problems in achieving sustainable development, and have as a group been less successful than resource-deficient neighbours. Nine countries are studied: Botswana, Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Jamaica, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Trinidad Tobago. authors argue that key factor is not sustainability production initially generates growth, but maintenance economic social conditions for sustaining growth. draw upon recent progress environmental natural resource accounting show how this can be achieved, also assess socio-political factors often constrain development.
