摘要: Multiple endocrine systems are dysregulated in patients with psychiatric illness; many factors have been identified that contribute to these perturbations. Using the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis as a representative model, authors examine effects of administration and withdrawal psychotropic medication on hormones associated this system. Many medications affect multiple levels axis, which is relevant both clinician investigator studying neuroendocrine aspects illness.
