摘要: Waste activated sludge (WAS) contains various organic and inorganic substances that should be treated for a safe disposal. Anaerobic digestion is the most widely accepted method stabilizing WAS. This work presents preliminary results concerning technical economic feasibility of alkali hybrid thermo-alkali pretreatments improvement WAS anaerobic digestion. Chemicals used were NaOH Ca(OH)2, with doses in range 0.04–0.2 g alkali/g TS. The same at low temperature (70 90 °C). Test outcomes demonstrated was more performing chemical disintegration COD liberation than Ca(OH)2. showed good performances already (0.08 NaOH/g TS) rates order 20 %. Thermal effect improved performance, fact biogas yield increased 13.2 26.8 % when samples respectively 70 °C 0.04 TS min. However, until nowadays issues (mainly cost chemicals pH conditioning) have limited real-world applications pretreatments. analysis performed this that, if pretreatment carried out dose 0.08 TS, only an increase methane 60 could offset chemicals. On other hand, increases yields 15–20 sufficient.
