摘要: Potassium iodide (KI) is recommended as an emergency treatment for exposure to radioiodines, most commonly associated with nuclear detonation or mishaps at power plants. Protecting the thyroid gland of infants and children remains a priority because increased incidence cancer in young exposed radioiodines (such 131I 133I). There lack clinical studies KI draw definitive conclusions about effectiveness safety administration young. In this paper, we compare functional aspects hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis adults review limited children.
