The effects of vacancies on positron annihilation in cadmium

摘要: The strong temperature dependence of positron lifetimes in some metals has been explained terms the trapping positrons by vacancies. To test model further, precision measurements angular distribution annihilation photons have performed on samples carefully annealed cadmium metal. results, which are analysed model, provide a value 0.52 ± 0.05 eV for activation energy vacancy formation and emphasise importance core study behaviour metals.
