摘要: The phenomenon of underreporting dietary intake has been observed previously in many epidemiologic studies. In this study it was investigated whether dependencies exist between energy obtained by a semi-quantitative, self-administered food frequency questionnaire and lifestyle or anthropometric factors, particularly obesity. population consisted 2 531 subjects, men aged 40 to 64 years women 35 from the general Potsdam surrounding areas. First, subjects were allocated into quintiles ratio ‘reported (EI)’ ‘calculated basal metabolic rate (BMR)’ as measure age weight adjusted intake. No apparent socio-economic variables EI/BMR observed. Among variables, BMI related measures obesity inversely women. While directly absolute quantities, fat, protein, carbohydrate, alcohol found be independent ratio. Energy group consumption also EI/BMR, showing only slightly increasing trends across for cereals fats, decreasing trend sweet foods When classified three categories BMI, reported decreased categories. Estimated expenditure based on BMR with A close direct relationship difference estimated expenditure. It is concluded that major determinant underreporting. largely such methodological influences.
