摘要: The 'European Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC)' represents one of the main scientific activities EU program 'Europe against Cancer' is a large-scale cohort study on diet chronic diseases, especially cancer, with approximately 475,000 participants. German contribution amounted to 53,000 participants recruited between 1994 1998. instruments baseline examination included self-administered questionnaires for optical reading, PC-guided interviews, physical examinations. These covered different aspects lifestyle, particular focus diet. In addition, about 95% provided 30 ml blood. blood was stored in liquid nitrogen further use, preferentially nested case-control studies. All interviews examinations were conducted by trained interviewers centers established this local health offices. Every 2 years, follow-up questionnaire mailed will be used as major source outcome information update exposure information. self-reported diseases are verified medical data. future, record linkage cancer registries help support identification collection incident cases.
