摘要: In 1997, the Polychlorinated dibenzo-para-dioxin (PCDD)/Polychlorinated dibenzofuran (PCDF) concentrations in dairy products Germany and other European countries increased. The PCDD/PCDF source was contaminated lime used Brazilian citrus pulp pellets. mined from an industrial dump site. However, detailed origin of PCDD/PCDFs not revealed. This paper investigates contamination describes link between milk dumpsite a chlorine/organochlorine industry lime. stem mining at corporate landfill Solvay Indupa Sao Paulo. for 40 years deposition production residues closed 1996. factory operated/operates least two processes with potentially high releases namely oxychlorination process ethylene dichloride (EDC) chlor-alkali process. main landfilled waste (1.4 million tons) vinyl chloride monomer (via acetylene process) along processes. fingerprint revealed that most samples chemical showed EDC pattern characteristic octachlorodibenzofuran dominance. Rio Grande sediment downstream facility minor impact pattern. case highlights PCDD/PCDF- persistent organic pollutants-contaminated sites need to be identified comprehensive manner as required by Stockholm Convention (article 6) controlled their on environment human health. Landfill reuse materials deposits should prohibited.
