Symptoms and side effects in chronic non-cancer pain: patient report vs. systematic assessment.

摘要: Background: Relieving distressing symptoms and managing the side effects of analgesics are essential in order to improve quality life functional capacity chronic non-cancer pain patients. A quick, reliable valid tool for assessing is needed optimize treatment. We aimed investigate reported by patients after open-ended questioning vs. a systematic assessment using list symptoms, assess whether could distinguish between induced analgesics. Methods: Patients treated with either opioids and/or adjuvant were asked report their spontaneously, followed 41-item investigator-developed symptom checklist. control group also filled checklist. Results: total 62 64 controls participated study. The numbers (9.9 ± 5.9) significantly higher than those (3.2 3.9) (P<0.001). In patient group, number spontaneously (1.3 1.4) was lower when checklist six most frequently were: (1) Fatigue; (2) Memory deficits; (3) Dry mouth; (4) Concentration (5) Sweating; (6) Weight gain. Out share due was: mouth (42%); Sweating (34%); gain (29%); deficits (24%); Fatigue (19%); (19%). Conclusion: eightfold voluntarily. Fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, dry mouth, sweating weight reported. contribute substantially symptoms.
