摘要: Santolina insularis (Genn ex Fiori) Arrig. is a medicinal plant whose essential oil shows antiviral and antibacterial activities potent selective cytotoxic activity against the human colon carcinoma cell line. The occurrence of several chemotypes makes taxonomic identification S. hard to achieve. GC-MS analyses four (SI1, SI2, SI3 SI4) revealed presence different percentages santolina triene, beta-pinene, myrcene, beta-phellandrene, artemisia ketone cis-chrysanthemol, allowing chemical discrimination. Single fragments 5S-rRNA-NTS region approximately 150, 170, 260 280bp were produced by SI1, SI4, respectively, sequence alignment 5S-rRNA spacer flanked 3'-and 5'-ends coding confirmed consistent difference between chemotypes. Furthermore, PCR-RFLP method was applied. From identified sequences, an EcoRV site could be found in SI2 regions at 81 bp position; however, this absent chemotype SI4. This study, showing remarkable variation terpenoid profile genomic regions, which grouped into two ecotypes, based on analyses. specific gene sequences work can used for rapid precise chemo-/ecotypes, complementing analysis.
