摘要: Objective To investigate the efficacy of verteporfin and photodynamic therapy in treatment large retinal capillary hemangiomas. Methods Case reports 3 patients with hemangiomas treated using verteporfin. Standard dosages (6 mg/m 2 body surface area) were given. Both standard modified protocols followed. Modified included shorter infusion times longer light exposure times. Results Pretreatment best-corrected Snellen visual acuity affected eyes 20/100, 20/50, 2/200, respectively. All cases had associated exudative detachments involving macula. Cases 1 classic endophytic was a reactive hemangioma. treatments, after 8 months, improved to 20/40. Two years initiating therapy, 20/30 there no reperfusion treatments. The hemangioma fibrotic, 20 months 20/30. treatment, 11 weeks later 20/400. Four returned counting fingers because tractional elevation macula as fibrosed. Vitrectomy surgery performed, choroidal neovascularization discovered. Three vitrectomy In 2, ultimately regressed, detachment resolved. Conclusions Verteporfin effective achieving closure all cases, underwent fibrosis consequent macular puckering due traction. improved.
