摘要: Linkage disequilibrium (LD) is the nonrandom association of alleles at two markers. Patterns LD have biological implications as well practical ones when designing studies or conservation programs aimed identifying genetic basis fitness differences within and among populations. However, temporal dynamics in wild populations has received little empirical attention. In this study, we examined overall extent LD, effect sample size on accuracy precision estimates, bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) with different demographic histories. Using over 200 microsatellite loci, assessed metrics multi-allelic D', χ ('2). We found that both exhibited high levels although was much shorter a native population than one founded via translocation, experienced prolonged bottleneck post founding, followed by recent admixture. addition, observed significant variation relation to used, small sizes leading depressed estimates but inflated background LD. contrast, there not yearly cross-sections either once accounted for. Lack pronounced interannual variability suggests researchers may worry about estimating can instead focus obtaining largest possible.
