摘要: Biologists long believed that, once development is completed, no new neurons are produced in the forebrain. However, as now firmly established, can be at least two specific forebrain areas: subventricular zone (SVZ) and dentate gyrus (DG) of hippocampal formation. Neurogenesis within adult DG occurs constitutively throughout postnatal life, rate neurogenesis altered under various physiological pathophysiological conditions. The process a multi-step (proliferation, differentiation, migration, targeting, synaptic integration) that ends with formation post-mitotic functionally integrated neuron. Various markers expressed during stages neurogenesis. availability such allows time-course fate newly born cells to followed detailed precise fashion. Several available (e.g., PCNA, Ki-67, PH3, MCM2) for proliferative events, whereas others more early phases gliogenesis nestin, GFAP, Sox2, Pax6). In addition, allowing events distinguished related later steps vimentin, BLBP, S100beta) or NeuroD, PSA-NCAM, DCX).
