摘要: Eukaryotes have established symbiotic relationship with microorganisms, which enables them to accomplish functions that they cannot perform alone. In the German cockroach, Blattella germanica, obligate endosymbiont Blattabacterium coexists a rich gut microbiota. The transmission of is vertical, but little known about how microbiota colonizes newborn individuals. this study, we treated B. germanica populations rifampicin, broad-spectrum antibiotic, during two generations and analyzed bacterial composition load in control rifampicin-treated populations. Rifampicin exerted drastic effect on composition, recovered second generation case where antibiotic was not added diet. Furthermore, observed species present diet, particularly feces, contribute significantly establishing Finally, population remained unaffected by treatment adults first strongly reduced generation, suggesting intracellular symbiont sensitive rifampicin only infection mature oocytes, when it an extracellular stage.
