摘要: Summary Thanks to fast learning and sustained growth, solar photovoltaics (PV) is today a highly cost-competitive technology, ready contribute substantially CO2 emissions mitigation. However, many scenarios assessing global decarbonization pathways, either based on integrated assessment models or partial-equilibrium models, fail identify the key role that this technology could play, including far lower future PV capacity than projected by community. In perspective, we review factors lie behind historical cost reductions of innovations in pipeline maintaining high rate. We also aim at opening constructive discussion among experts, modelers, policymakers regarding how improve representation ensure manufacturing installation PV- can ramp up time, which will be crucial remain path compatible with Paris Agreement.
