Analysis of transformed fifth order polynomial curve for the contraction of wind tunnel by using OpenFOAM

摘要: Contraction is the vital part in wind tunnel hence designing of contraction having greater interest among researchers. Bell and Mehta proposed a fifth order polynomial for design was widely accepted designers. Daniel Brassard transformed to provide better results by making radius at inlet higher than outlet. In this paper analysis investigated using open source CFD tool OpenFOAM. Analysis basically taken considering uniformity air flow, wall shear stress distribution turbulence intensity outlet mid vertical plane test section. From it found that model compared untransformed one terms intensity.
