摘要: Calcium signalling in astrocytes couples changes neural activity to alterations cerebral blood flow by eliciting vasoconstriction or vasodilation of arterioles. However, the mechanism for how these opposite astrocyte influences provide appropriate vessel tone within an environment that has dynamic metabolic requirements remains unclear. Here we show ability induce vasodilations over vasoconstrictions relies on state rat brain tissue. When oxygen availability is lowered and calcium concentration elevated, glycolysis lactate release are maximized. External attenuates transporter-mediated uptake from extracellular space prostaglandin E2, leading accumulation subsequent vasodilation. In conditions low adenosine also increases, which blocks astrocyte-mediated constriction, facilitating dilation. These data reveal role substrates regulating a differential control cerebrovascular diameter during different states activation.
