摘要: We have investigated the expression of vascular adhesion molecules during first stage chronic inflammation in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis SJL/J mouse. Immunocytochemical analysis frozen sections inflamed versus noninflamed brains and spinal cords showed that endothelium from diseased animals expressed high levels cell molecule-1 (VCAM-1) intercellular (ICAM-1) but no detectable mucosal addressin or peripheral lymph node addressin. In section assays, anti-alpha 4 integrin anti-VCAM-1 monoclonal antibodies inhibited binding mouse lymphocytes to at both C 20 C. Antilymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 anti-ICAM-1 These results are consistent with an important role for VCAM-1 ICAM-1 their receptors lymphocyte recruitment central nervous system.
