摘要: Behavioral tests of animals in a controlled experimental setting provide valuable tool to advance understanding genotype-phenotype relations, and study the effects genetic environmental manipulations. To optimally benefit from increasing numbers genetically engineered mice, reliable high-throughput methods for comprehensive behavioral phenotyping mice lines have become necessity. Here, we describe development validation an anxiety test, light spot that allows unsupervised, automated, testing home-cage system. This automated test circumvents bias introduced by pretest handling, enables recording both baseline behavior response over prolonged period time. We demonstrate induces C57BL/6J mice. reverts when aversive stimulus is switched off, blunted treatment with anxiolytic drug Diazepam, demonstrating predictive validity assay, indicating observed has significant component. Also, investigated effectiveness as part sequential different aspects home-cage. Two learning tests, administered prior affected parameters. The novel, assay anxiety-related environment, allowing rapid screening pharmacological compounds.
