High-frequency mechanical spectroscopy with an atomic force microscope

摘要: In this article we further develop local mechanical spectroscopy and extend the frequency range over which it can be used. Using a heterodyne method to measure deflection of cantilever enables one probe vibration at any frequency. Since detection sensitivity force gradients follows f2 dependence, extending from 1 more than 5 MHz increases by an order magnitude. This setup is combined with realistic model taking into account geometry cantilever. The presented discussed, compared experimental behavior measured on WC–Co NiTi–epoxy samples. Experimental moduli 730±50 260±40 GPa are obtained for WC Co, respectively.
