摘要: To evaluate the role of antibiotic class in rate liberation endotoxin during therapy for sepsis caused by gram-negative bacteria, we obtained serial blood samples from rabbits with Escherichia coli and treated chloramphenicol, gentamicin, or moxalactam. The concentrations viable free endotoxin, total each sample were measured. In geometric mean levels remained proportional to bacteremia, a result indicating absence antibiotic-induced liberation. contrast, increased rapidly while bacteremia declined after treatment gentamicin moxalactam, antibioticinduced release endotoxin. Despite similar rates bacterial killing, as much 20-fold higher moxalactam than paired receiving (P < .05). These results indicate that bacteria is dependent upon administered not necessarily correlated killing.
