摘要: Purpose: To formulate hydrogels based on poloxamer 407 and polyacrylic acids (Carbopols® 971P 974P), evaluate its suitability for enhanced topical delivery of gentamicin, a potent but highly toxic aminoglycoside antibiotic. Methods: Topical gentamicin were produced using polyacrlic evaluated in terms drug content, pH, physical assessment, viscosity stability. In vitro antimicrobial release was conducted four microorganisms ‐ Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Results: Stable gentamicin-loaded with good encapsulation efficiency (maximum EE% 85.76 to 90.66 %) as well greater zones inhibition against all organisms range: 22.34 ± 2.35 29.40 3.07 mm) than commercially available ointment pure sample (p < 0.05), produced. Overall, gave the most desirable properties rapid concentration time-dependent antibacterial activity tested micro-organisms, superior gentamicin. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that may offer promising approach treatment skin infections caused by gentamicin-susceptible bacteria.
