摘要: We reviewed all North American radiotelemetry studies of within-home-range habitat selection by northern goshawks (Accipiter gentilis) and relating territory occupancy productivity to landscape features. Goshawks selected habitats in the home range with structural characteristics mature old-growth forests, such as large trees high canopy closure. documented these structures a number forest types, including ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa), mixed conifer, lodgepole (P. contorta), temperate rainforest, upland hardwood, boreal forest, suggesting that are selecting forests for their structure rather than species composition. did not select stands greatest prey abundance. Selection natural openings, edges, stand diversity was inconclusive. Habitat patterns suggest current goshawk management plans western United States may be inadequate.
