Nest reuse by Goshawks after timber harvesting: Importance of distance to logging, remaining mature forest area and tree species composition

摘要: Abstract We studied reuse of Goshawk Accipiter gentilis nests after timber harvesting within 50 m from the nest in 31 territories southeastern Norway. The proportion used second or third breeding season logging (55%) did not differ significantly that 27 control (67%). Both for all ( N  = 58), and with closer than  = 31), reused differed those by being situated a larger area mature forest, forests higher Norway Spruce Picea abies , which gives better cover Scots Pine Pinus silvestris deciduous trees. However, nesting target Spruce-dominated forest stand seemed to lack alternative nests, probably due more intensive landscapes.
