Educating for the future: adolescent girls’ health and education in West Bengal, India

摘要: Adolescent girls in India carry a disproportionate burden of health and social risks; that do not finish secondary education are more likely to have an earlier age sexual initiation, engage risky behavior, consequentially be at greater risk dying from pregnancy-related causes. This paper presents comparison school 665 participants rural West Bengal, India. The cognitive theory (SCT), comprehensive theoretical model, was used as framework describe the personal, behavioral, environmental factors affecting lives these adolescent girls. There were significant differences between out all three categories SCT; heard sexually transmitted diseases or infections than (p<0.0001). Girls also boil water before drinking (p=0.0078), lived dwellings with 2.3 rooms on average, whereas only 1.7 Indian who disadvantaged both economically by their lack knowledge proper behaviors when compared still school. In addition, programs keep school, efforts should made provide informal improve behaviors.
