摘要: Subwavelength grating (SWG) waveguide is an intriguing alternative to conventional optical waveguides due the extra degree of freedom it offers in tuning a few important properties, such as dispersion and refractive index. Devices based on SWG have demonstrated impressive performances compared waveguides. However, high loss bends jeopardizes their applications integrated photonic circuits. In this work, we propose geometrical art, which realizes pre-distorted index profile bends. The can effectively reduce mode mismatch radiation simultaneously, thus significantly bend loss. This geometry art has been numerically optimized experimentally present study. Through tuning, average insertion 5 μm reduced drastically from 5.43 dB 1.10 dB per 90° for quasi-TE polarization. future, proposed scheme will be utilized enhance performance wide range photonics devices.
