摘要: Abstract The temporal course of the ultrastructural and functional changes taking place in degenerating optic terminals were studied under three conditions: (a) after bilateral eye enucleation; (b) electrolytic tract lesion; (c) surgical section chiasm. study revealed, (a), sequence two typical degenerative patterns: neurofibrillar hypertrophy (72–96 hr) dark degeneration (120 hr). Synaptic transmission LGN ceased at 72–96 hr. same patterns was observed (b), but each stage completed an earlier time. Neurofibrillar total 48 hr while appeared 72 Cessation occurred 48–54 In similar pattern, sequence, time to those found (b). differential electrophysiological alterations conditions is related length axon stump (a = 35 mm; b 7 mm).
