Adipocyte activation of cancer stem cell signaling in breast cancer

摘要: Signaling within the tumor microenvironment has a critical role in cancer initiation and progression. Adipocytes, one of major components breast microenvironment, have been shown to provide pro-tumorigenic signals that promote cell proliferation invasiveness vitro tumorigenicity vivo. Adipocyte secreted factors such as leptin interleukin-6 (IL-6) paracrine effect on cells. In adipocyte-adjacent cells, IL-6 signaling pathways activate janus kinase 2/signal transducer activator transcription 5, promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition, upregulating stemness regulators Notch, Wnt Sex determining region Y-box 2/octamer binding factor 4/Nanog axis. this review we will summarize regulate stem cells describe effects adipocyte signaling. Finally introduce new potential treatment paradigm inhibiting adipocyte-breast via targeting or pathways.
