摘要: SUMMARY: The genes responsible for cell wall biosynthesis and division (dcw genes) were identified sequenced in Streptococcus pneumoniae. genetic organization of the dcw cluster pneumoniae differed significantly from clusters other bacteria reported to date. In particular, corresponding 2 min region Escherichia colichromosome found distributed three genetically separate regions chromosome. first contained expected ftsA ftsZ at one end pbp2b, ddl murF o her end. murD, murG diw/B genes, always located upstream ftsA, a second separated first. A third yllC, yllD, pbp2x mraY genes. chromosomal downstream was also characterized. this contains four ORFs, all unknown function, an ORF encoding Bacillus subtilis DivlVA homologue. gene order be conserved Staphylococcus aureus, pyogenes subtilis, raising possibility that previously unidentified loci may involved division.
