All-Season Compact-Polarimetry C-band SAR Observations of Sea Ice

摘要: Abstract. Compact-polarimetry (CP) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) observations are presented for major sea ice types in each season. CP data three wide-swath Radarsat Constellation Mission (RCM) modes were simulated and evaluated. Regression models statistical distances as functions of incidence angles calculated 26 parameters, based on 969 samples user-selected homogeneous regions ice. best able to discriminate open water, quantitatively identified angle ranges (19–29°, 30–39°, 40–49°). These parameters will likely provide discrimination water both visual interpretation automated classification.
