摘要: Abstract The toxicity of arsenic greatly depends on its chemical form and oxidation state (speciation) therefore accurate determination speciation is a crucial step in understanding chemistry potential risk. High performance liquid chromatography with inductively coupled mass spectrometry (HPLC–ICP-MS) the most common analysis used for but it has two major limitations: relies an extraction (usually from solid sample) that can be incomplete or alter compounds; provides no structural information, relying matching sample peaks to standard peaks. use additional analytical methods complementary manner introduces ability address these disadvantages. X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) HPLC–ICP-MS identify compounds not extracted provide minimal processing steps may help preserve labile such as those containing sulfur bonds, which degrade under chromatographic conditions. On other hand, essential confirming organoarsenic similar white line energies seen by using XAS, identifying trace are too low detected XAS. electrospray (ESI–MS) confirmation identified during analysis, identification unknown observed further resolves co-eluting compounds. In ESI–MS, helps focus ESI–MS selection ions. Numerous studies have shown information obtained enhanced approaches.
