摘要: Abstract Objectives Many studies have been developed aiming to reveal the usefulness of cavum X-rays and telerradiographies as diagnostic tools for detection upper airway obstruction due adenoid hypertrophy. However, scientific literature is diverse controversial. Therefore, a systematic review proposed; with objective determine diagnosis value lateral X-ray view skull regarding Methods Searching was conducted on Pubmed, Lilacs, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web Knowledge databases; restricted published in English, Portuguese or Spanish languages, carried out humans under 18 years age. All obtained publications were first submitted pre-selection, then, full-texts (n = 66) analyzed selected by independent examiners. The resultant (n = 11) systematically critically analyzed, qualified according QUADAS (Quality Assessment Diagnostic Accuracy Studies) questionnaire, an assessment tool designed qualify tests accuracy studies. Results selection procedures generated 11 which considered adequate be analyzed. Accordingly, large variation observed concerning evaluation methods radiographic fibronasoendoscopic exams, sample characteristics. Additionally, little amount evidences could provided, since few variables simultaneously. Moreover, were, at most, subjective poorly described. application revealed other significant limitations related sampling, such inadequate spectrum investigated “disease” (adenoid hypertrophy), poor report subjects’ enrollment participation process. Further, inadequacies methodological features, including description exams methods. In addition, it also shown that most did not specify moment clinical time when both performed; neither reported strategy “blindness” Conclusions Despite limitations, majority data indicates might somewhat useful, even though clearly demonstrated. Future research should then adhere greater rigor, order investigate significance radiographies screening test.
