Quality of Life in Morbidly Obese Patients after Surgical Weight Loss

摘要: Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) is seen as a safe surgical procedure in individuals with morbid obesity, satisfactory weight loss and significant postoperative improvement quality of life (QoL). The present study investigates the predictive value various parameters such age, gender, loss, preoperative psychiatric disorders regard to QoL after LAGB. 300 obesity surgery patients were sent questionnaires assess variety personal parameters. was assessed using Ardelt-Moorehead Quality Life Questionnaire. Questionnaires completed by 140 (63%) female 36 (45%) male patients. Average both sexes 14.7 kg/m2; however, not all successfully lost weight. No difference satisfaction among age groups. Some correlations between amount scores females, but males. Greater showed statistically positive correlation self-esteem, physical activity, social relationships, sexuality, eating pattern. Obese females no diagnosis had better more satisfying sexual relationships than those diagnoses at follow-up. A majority morbidly obese show psychological interpersonal surgery. However, some patients, particularly having or personality disorder, need individual strategies for psychosocial intervention do disorder.
