摘要: BACKGROUND Nearly 30% of patients with epilepsy continue to have seizures despite using several antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). Such are regarded as having refractory, or uncontrolled, epilepsy. While there is no universally accepted definition medically epilepsy, for the purposes this review we will consider drug resistant if they failed respond a minimum two AEDs. Specialists that early surgical intervention may prevent at younger age, which in turn improve intellectual and social status children.
