摘要: We study ionic microgel suspensions composed of swollen particles for various single-particle stiffnesses. measure the osmotic pressure π these and show that it is dominated by contribution free ions in solution. As this depends on volume fraction suspension ϕ, we can determine ϕ from π, even at fractions so high are compressed. find width fluid-solid phase coexistence, measured using larger than its hard-sphere value stiffer microgels progressively decreases softer microgels. For sufficiently soft microgels, fluidlike, irrespective fraction. By calculating dependence mean a particle, behavior phase-coexistence correlates with whether or not compressed corresponding to coexistence.
