Moisture dependent mechanical and thermal properties of Locust bean (Parkia biglobosa)

摘要: The mechanical and thermal properties of African locust bean ( Parkia biglobosa ) seeds were investigated as a function moisture content in the range 5.9%–28.2 % dry basis (d.b.). These are required for engineering design equipment handling processing bean. Universal Testing Machine was used to determine at 5 mm / min load rating transversely. Normal shear stresses determined 200–500 g loads 100 interval.  Specific heat conductivity using method mixtures steady-state flow respectively. Linear decreases rupture force (214.42–129.86 N) energy (109.17–73.46 N mm) recorded, while deformation seed samples increased (0.98-1.13 mm). increase normal stress 200, 300, 400 500 8.38–8.69, 9.39–9.70, 10.40–10.71 11.41–11.72 cm 2 respectively, ranged from 0.589 0.845, 0.688 0.998, 0.638–1.213 0.688–1.359 with increasing content. specific 2.74 4.38 kJ kg -1 o C 0.052 0.118 W m  Seed effect statistically significant p ere generated development necessary equipment.
