摘要: Functionally graded materials (FGM) are in which one or several material properties vary continuously as a function of space. In this work, we interested specific spatial distribution dielectric permittivity with the objective efficient electric stress control. This is significance to solid insulators like spacers for GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgears), bushings, cable terminations, winding insulation, etc. order create an FGM, micro-sized fillers incorporated into base polymer matrix obtain gradation filler percentage, resulting consequent permittivity. Here, dimensional (1D) FGM specimens prepared by sedimentation process. Bisphenol-A (LY556) epoxy resin used and micro sized alumina (Al 2 O 3 ) material. Relative measured along direction gradient volume fraction microfillers, using LCR meter. A linear variation observed. The experimental matched against values obtained from Finite Element Method (FEM) based numerical model developed compute composite on fraction. Further, compared those also predicted existing theoretical models. field obtained.
