摘要: Aromatase inhibitors (AIs) target the production of estrogens with intention reducing estrogen receptor signalling in breast cancer. One mechanism by which tumour cells can evade AI therapy is to find alternative ways activate absence ligand. Here we discuss mechanisms ligand-independent activation including growth factor cross talk, kinase induced phosphorylation, involvement co-factors as well hypersensitivity receptor. Understanding how cell pathways regulate activity helping identify biomarkers resistance. The research discussed here has also led development a number new treatment strategies help combat resistant disease.
