摘要: Studies examining the prevalence of zoonotic agents in Caribbean are very limited. The objective this study was to examine seroprevalence seven among individuals residing on 10 English-speaking countries. Sera from healthy, pregnant women were collected Antigua-Barbuda, Belize, Bermuda, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts-Nevis, Lucia, and Vincent-Grenadines tested for presence IgG antibodies dengue virus, hepatitis E hantaviruses, leptospiral agents, spotted fever group rickettsiae (SFGR), typhus (TGR), Coxiella burnetii (Q fever). highest values observed SFGR, leptospirosis, although lowest C. burnetii, TGR. Antibodies hantaviruses not detected any individuals. majority enrolled positive with an overall 83.0 ± 3.5% Table 1. Seroprevalence 80-100% all countries except Bermuda (8%) Belize (36%). This suggests that risk exposure these may be lower than others studied. Because cross-reactive nature flavivirus antibodies, it is possible a portion seropositive specimens associated other flaviviruses. However, results consistent previous studies indicating extensive circulation virus serotypes throughout Caribbean. 6
