摘要: Background  Per-anal excision can be an effective method for treating large rectal adenomas and selected cancers. This procedure is suitable that are too colonoscopic early cancers in patients unfit major resection. Patients methods  We retrospectively reviewed 37 (16 male, 21 female) had a local resection using Salvati operating proctoscope. Fifteen cancer 22 adenoma all have been followed-up median of 14 months (range 2–65). Most were staged pre-operatively with endorectal ultrasound 6 received adjuvant therapy. Results  There no intra-operative complications, minor postoperative none requiring re-intervention (1 peri-anal haematoma, 2 anaemia, chest 1 secondary haemorrhage) peri-operative deaths. Lesions histologically completely excised 33 (89%). Thirty-four (92%) did not any recurrence, (5%) recurred (both successfully treated further resection) (3%) failed to attend follow-up. Six since died, from comorbid conditions. Conclusion  Local tumours the proctoscope low cost technique complication rate. Outcome this treatment good, similar other surgical modalities. tumour recurrences uncommon treatment.
