摘要: ESEARCH concerning representational role orientations, the way in which legislators relate themselves to their decision-making behavior, recognizes three distinct models: trustee, delegate, politico (Wahlke et al. 1962). The trustee claims vote his convictions and principles as conscience dictates. delegate follows wishes of constituents even if they are contrary own. is a combination both roles. Much research dealing with roles assumes implicitly explicitly that orientations remain constant over time. That is, it has been assumed once legislator becomes comfortable particular orientation, he will generally maintain orientation throughout legislative career. assumption stable time prerequisite for those who argue may be used general theory explaining predicting behavior. Within literature roles, there only few studies discuss stability choice. These focus on changing patterns freshman and/or candidates various bodies (Bell Price 1975; Clarke 1981; Asher 1973). In an effort extend work, this note concerns change non-freshman legislators.
