摘要: In contrast to inventory data of energy and transport processes, public chemicals are rather scarce. Chemicals important consider in LCA, because they used the production many, if not all, products. Moreover, may cause considerable environmental impacts. For these reasons, it was one goal new ecoinvent database provide LCI on chemicals. this paper, methods procedures for establishing LCIs presented. Three different approaches suggested situations differing availability. First, case good availability, general quality guidelines can be followed. Second, a procedure is proposed translation aggregated (cumulative results) from industry into format. This approach used, adequate unit process available. Third, put forward estimating using stoichiometric equations technical literature as main information source. latter method no other The application each three illustrated with help study. When sufficient available follow ecoinvent, resulting dataset characterized by high degree detail, thus quality. chemicals, however, standard possible only few cases. industrial data, drawback fact that those often being out tune its aim, harmonization data. As third approach, use reaction equation compilation datasets represents an alternative neglecting completely, but contains risk aspects life cycle respective substance. Further work area should focus improvement datasets, so far established either two estimation (APME method; based literature) described. Besides already inventories, further harmonized inventories specific types (e.g. solvents) or sectors electronics industry) discussion.
