Ultrasound Imaging of Atherosclerotic Lesions in Arteries of Animals: Validity and Reproducibility

摘要: The study of atherogenesis and the time course atherosclerosis progression in animal models is a research area which has led to significant advances knowledge about human atherosclerotic process. Ultrasound B-scan imaging one few noninvasive procedures may be used quantitatively assess presence severity arterial lesions. Its advantages, include ease application, low cost, repeated use without adverse consequences, make ultrasound preferred modality.
