摘要: Plants are the major source of carbohydrates for heterotrophic microorganisms on Earth. For their growth, latter organisms thus rely heavily efficient production photoassimilates by plants. even make use diverse compounds to interact, and form associations, with often mutualistic beneficial bacteria. On other hand, bacteria possess a wide range metabolic properties that may modulate plant growth. Bacteria living inside plants, i.e. bacterial endophytes, might intimately interact cells host, taking up secreted metabolites releasing plant-growth-promoting compounds. This synergistic interaction has been recently demonstrated exemplifies so-called double-fitness trait which is active in plant–endophyte partnership. The ecological role endophytes can improve sustainable agriculture further discussed.
