Numerical analysis of optical properties of oblate semi-spheroid-shaped quantum dots coupled to wetting layer

摘要: The authors report optical nonlinearity enhancement in oblate semi-spheroid-shaped quantum dots (QDs) coupled to a wetting layer. To reach this result, two groups of InAs/GaAs QDs were examined. In group (A), the base length was set 14 nm and height changed from 3 14 nm. (B), 4 nm increased 10 25 nm. energy eigenvalues, transition energies, dipole moments, oscillator strengths, linear nonlinear susceptibility compared. (B) shown be much more sensitive both peak position value size changes, contrast (A) QDs. Interestingly, ∼11.4 times increase real imaginary parts third-order observed when Moreover, most stretched i.e., b=25  nm, ∼4.6 larger than tallest QD h=14  nm. Finally, figure merit showed ∼3.38 with increasing b=10  nm b=25  nm.
